No never! Teddy Bear Hamsters or syrians as they are also known should never been housed together. They are solatry creatures who should always live in a cage alone. They can only live together when first born for around 8 weeks then they must live alone.

They will most definatly fight to the death I would not recommend this - you may feel its a shame your hamster has no one to play with but i assure you this type of hamster is supposed to live this way.

Other species of hamsters such as dwarf hamsters like Robo's and campbell thrive on living together so if you want to have more than one hamster living together you could get some of these, but they should all be bought at the same time.

I have one teddy bear who lives alone of course and 4 Robos who happily live together.

It has been known for pet shops to sell hamster as pairs like a mummy and daddy but they will not live together period.

You should find searching for information on 'syrians' will bring up loads of helpful info for you on this issue.

Hope this helps. x

I probably wouldn't. Hamsters are solitary animals and it is a bad idea to put another hamster in with one that has been alone for most of it's life. I breed hamsters, and I know. They will fight alot if you do, they won't get along that well, in other words.

No do no longer do it!!! as quickly as i presumed my teddy bear hamster became lonely and that i've got been given yet another one so she would be able to play along with her yet she ended up killing her and ingesting her!!!! Please do no longer except you like a ineffective hamster!! they do in comparison to corporation!

no; teddy bear hamsters have a tendency to fight, and they don't get along with other hamsters. they are better off alone.

you can try putting another ham in the cage. however if you put the same sex in with the one you have you may have a fight on your hands. usually they get along like any other animal they may have to get use to each other.
