They aren't fair, but your example does not highlight the unfairness of the laws. It does highlight something, but I'll get reported for pointing it out.

THESE examples do highlight the unfairness of the laws:

- Two high schoolers. Boy is 14 girl is 15, and are friends. They consentually decide to have intercourse. Parents find out, freak out, and the girls parents call the authorities. The boy is arrested and convicted of statutory rape. The boy is now considered a sex offender, has to register everywhere he moves, and is prohibited from living w/in 1000-2500 ft of any school, bus stop, park, or church......FOR LIFE!!! and nothing happens to the girl.

- It's a great day on the golf course. you and your buddies have a cooler filled with beer (it's ok with this course). Nature calls, and the port-o-lets are 500 yards away, but the trees are 5 steps away. Whip it out, start to go, and a passerby sees, gets offended, calls the police, and you are arrested and convicted for public urination. You think, no big, I'll pay the fine, and move on. But noooo, you can't move on. You are now a sex offender for life, you have to register everywhere you go, and can't live within 1000-2500 feet of any school, church, bus stop, or park.....FOR LIFE.

Now, in both cases, wrong doing was done. Does the punishment fit the crime tho? Why should these two people be lumped together with the most vile of people: Rapist and Child Molestors?

Because in a marriage possessions are split 50/50. You cannot own a person so if you have go ahead when your partner says no it is RAPE.
