I can choose two songs - one fast, one slow. It'll be in front of a live audience... only stipulation is that it has to be Christian (or just with a Christian message - i think that's allowed, too)..
Any suggestions will be much appreciated!!
Thanks!

Not to say that you're incorrect, but they've given you a song, and you'll want to pick one that is a contrasting style. Then again, you are only auditioning into high school, so just pick a piece that you really like and do it.

Hard to know without knowing your voice. I would go to www.klove.com and listen to online radio or the top songs and find one that works for you. Artist like Nicole Nordeman, Natalie Grant, Nicole C. Mullen, Point of Grace, and Bethany Dillon each have a different sound that works for different vocal styles. You can check out their websites and see which one best matches your style.

well, i haven't had to do anything that has to be christian or have a christian message but i've tried out for all state chorus for the past 5 years. the songs our county uses for auditions are "below in the valley" "verdant meadows" "to friendship" and "gia il sole dal gange". the first three can be sung in english or german. the last one is italian and it's about a sun god. ~saj

I know I am a little off topic, but what do you think of electronic music nowdays?
I think Mp3s are the most popular music format out there..

I just found this site related to downloading MP3s right off the internet:

Title: "My Tribute"

Author: Andre Crouch

Words:

How can I say thanks for the things you have done for me?
Things so undeserved, yet You gave to prove your love for me.
The voices of a million angels could not express my gratitude.
All that I am and ever hope to be I owe it all to thee.

To God be the glory, to God be the glory,
To God be the glory, for the things He has done.
With His blood He has saved me
With His power He has raised me
To God be the glory, for the things He has done.

Just let me live my life and let it be pleasing Lord to thee
And should I gain any praise let it go to Calvary.
With His blood He has saved me,
With His power He has raised me
To God be the glory for the things He has done.

To God be the glory, to God be the glory,
To God be the glory, for the things He has done.
With His blood He has saved me
With His power He has raised me
To God be the glory, for the things He has done.

Very powerful if you can do it well !!
