As a member in the military and currently serving in the Middle East, I have a tough time with this war. I believe we should be over here due to the fact of the events that happened on our soil September 11, 2001. However, I don't agree with so many of my brothers being killed when there really is no end in sight. Our main objective when we first came over here was to get Hussein out of Iraq and set up a Democratic government for the people. We have done that, so why are we still here? I know we want to stop terrorism, but there is no way to control, stop, or even slow down this terrible thing. We have our man (Hussein) and are not able to find Bin Laden. To answer your question I would voice your opinion on the subject and support it with good reasons. I hope this helps.

There are many aspects of this war, and you can write about any of them, in your essay. Here are some ideas?

Why did the war begin? What were the US Government's justifications? Were all of those justifications presented, at once, or did the Government present one justification and, after it was discredited, present another, and then another?

What does the UN and international law say, regarding the responsibilities of a power that occupies another country? Has the USA lived up to those responsibilities, with regard to Iraq?

What has happened to the price of oil, since the war began? Has it risen? If so, how much? Why?

How has the war changed the lives of the people of Iraq?

What effect did (and does) the weaponry used by the USA, in Iraq, have upon the progress of the war? Did the weaponry shorten the war against Saddam Hussein's armies? How does that weaponry fare against the insurgency?

There are lots and lots of things that you can explore, about this war. Best of luck with your research and your writing.

You could probably build a pretty good essay just based on questions that have been posted here on YA. Do a question search on Iraq war and then look at pro and con answers and see why people give the answers they do. Then maybe google some of the names they mention. If you quote anybody of course you will cite your sources and you will probably want to leave out whatever profanity you encounter.

A good starting point for your essay of course is 9/11 since people generally consider the invasion of Iraq to be a response to 9/11. You could try to decide out if it really is a respnse and if it is an appropriate and effective response. That ought to keep you busy for awhile.

I don't know what grade you are in, but as you said, this is not a novel, so you need to narrow this down some. You need to somehow write on the "War in Iraq" either from a single point of view or in your point of view. I don't know your teacher. Would he/she get upset with the war in Iraq and how it applies to you. Did you know any one there and write about them and their experience. Or write about "will US troop pulling out of Iraq" and look up any articles related to that. There happened to be something about it in the yahoo headlines today. Cross reference it with any other previous articles ever written on the subject. Or maybe, casualty statistics on the war. That is always an eye opener.
Good luck.

In lay mans language for point write 1 & for every other digit write a zero. means for .2 write 2/10 if you can cancil these 2 digits by any number as 2 once is 2 & 2 fives are 10 so the answer will be 2/10 now you can solve this question. If you have calculator you can do this too. But understanding the method is the first thing. Learn it nicelt it willl come in future a lot for your use.

I would find it interesting to learn about how life has changed for the average Iraqi since Saddam lost power. Life, even thought greatly restricted under a cruel dictatorship, was more peaceful and controlled. since the Amercian occupation, there has been continuous violence, civil war, and the death of over 600,000 Iraqis. Compare how life was better/worse under saddam.

Just introduce the topic and put down some quotes about how controversial the issue has been- then you can ease yourself into the essay. Have they given you a question to answer?

For many years, there has been suspicions of nuclear weapon use, threats of usage and distrust in between countries.

That's all I've got. It's kind of hard when the war has nothing to do with the attacks!!!
