Does anyone know how to remove stains from Tupperware?

Question

The majority of the imformation given sounds exteremly solid. So, I am going to try everything - expect for throwing it out and buying a new one (I wouldn't have asked this question, if that was what I was going to do from the start) - and see what works. I wish I could give all of you ten points, however, I cannot. So I will give them to the person whose solution works best.

Cascade plastic booster is about $2. You can buy it at the grocery or department store like K-Mart or Wal-Mart or from your local Tupperware Rep.

Tupperware does have a lifetime guarantee on it's products BUT they do not replace a piece for every reason or people problems. They guarantee for problems with chipping, peeling, or cracking due to normal recommended use. If your dog chews on your Tupperware or you melted it, they will not replace it.

Tupperware does have a few lines of products that are especially designed not to stain. The Rock n' serve containers and the Sheerly Elegant pieces.

When I was selling this stuff (way back in the day) an older lady told me that if you rub the inside of the bowl with a baking soda paste then ball a piece of newspaper & set it inside it with the lid on it over night. The next day wash it as normal and the stain will be gone. Hey I tried it on some old bowls I had & it worked. Otherwise, Tupperware gaurantee's their product so you can contact your local distributor & they will swap it out. If the product is no longer available then they will give you the comperable product. I've done this & got a better item then what I had.

Actually, my Tupperware rep says to remove tomato stains, and others - use a little distilled vinegar mixed with water and freeze - run warm water over the piece to remove ice and stain should leave with ice. Careful not to use water too hot or it will break tupperware.

Otherwise, I soak in soapy water for a few hours - one small capful of bleach in the water works well.

Actually, sometimes this helps my tupperware and other plastic dishes. Fill dish, or sink if there are a lot, with hot water. Add a splash, just a splash of bleach. Stir water around. Let sit for about 5 minutes. Wash dish (dishes). GL

You can buy cleaner at Walmart that is just for removing stains from tupperware. It is by the dishwasher soap and it goes in the dishwasher.

Don't know how to remove them, but I have discovered the key to preventing them.....clean them in cold water. As soon as you wash them in warm water, the stain will set. Works like a charm even with red tomato sauce.

My mother-in-law says use bleach. Especially if the tupperware is white or even clear. Not sure about colored tupperware.

Belive it or not you can set it out in sunshine to remove some stains, it's worth a try.

use dishwasher detergent, strong solution, and soak the tupperware overnight.
