what is dyslexia?
is there a scale of it. or jsut only type of it?
does it have to go on my collage application?
is there any assisive technology that would help me?

My mother has servere dyslexia, as does my little sister.
They both read for fun (just in response to anothers post).
One thing they do all the time is muddle up letters. Mum knows that she has spelt a word wrong, but can not get it right ever. Her math is just as bad.
Both found a pair of weak lenses helped a little bit with spelling, but not much - there is realy nothing concrete that works.
But make sure you list it on a college application. It will actually help secure your place as it is seen as a disability and helps to add to their minimum quota under anti-discrimination laws. Don't expect much in the way of special treatment because of it though.

Do you ever read on your own, for fun? If you do you probably do not have dislexia, or you have a very mild case. I believe delexic people see whole words out of order, not just letters in a word.
I wouldn't put it on your college app unless you think it may affect your work.
There are some exercises you can do to help you deal with it a little better. Maybe you should go see a specialist!?

Dyslexia is a learning disability, you will learn to read differently then other people, It lines in your brain, when you see words on paper, the words look jumbled or backwards... dddd or bbbbb or MMMM,WWWW, my son also has it he is now 30. Try using a red film sheet when you read it keeps the words from jumping around, use a ruler when you read to keep you on the line you are reading. and it blocks some of the words on the paper you are not reading.
