Absolutely false. They didn't advertise on the internet years ago because there wasn't one.

False. What is marketed depends on where the target of main consumers exist. When it is marketed can depend on how well the consumer market is aquainted with the product. An example would be Ethiopia. Not everyone in Ethiopia has an iPod because a major portion of the population does not have computers to link an iPod not to mention they are expensive, most people in Ethiopia have little income. This would make the iPod completely useless in Ethiopia, thus not being marketed and produced for that country. If the economy was like that of Britain then iPods would be economically viable as a consumer product in Ethiopia because the market in Britain is a stable market allowing money to be made to keep making products that will support the consumer products in that country, like the iPod to the computer. =)

False, of course. Cell phones are a good example. When technology was primitive and coverage sparse, few were sold. As the technology advanced and coverage improved, they became more and more common. Now they are available and marketed around the world. In fact, technology often prompts sales. Younger consumers (say, 18-30) will replace a perfectly good cell phone with a newer one simply because the newer model incorporates more cutting-edge technology. Technological progress definitely is the engine of marketing!

Both. If a technological change affects market mechanisms, it will have an effect on all of those things.

On the other hand, if it is a technical innovation in something that is not a market mechanism or product that is marketed, it will have no effect. The new super-conducting super collider for nuclear physics research will have no such effect.

Very false.

Just look at how TV changed marketing whe it first came out. Everything was radio and newspaper, then all of a sudden you were seeing products everywhere and listening to ads.

The internet came about and everything changed even more. Now people have instant access to all types of information about products and they can easily compare products as well.
