It is one of the hardest things to do because i have been in that situation. My best friend is the love of my life i still have no doubts but i have also found another who feels like my soul mate. Being friends with someone u once cared deeply for is one of the hardest things to do in life no matter what. Because feelings will always consume you, but it is possible. U just have to keep your emotions at bay. Either you will give it another try or you will be able to be civil amongst eachother without having remorse regret or restrain toward one another. If you are strong willed you will be just fine

yes i do think it's possible to be friends w/ someone u once had feelings for. if u both have really moved on, then there shouldn't be a problem at all. now if u both feel that u were soul mates then maybe y'all should work something out and stop lyin to yourselves. if only u feel like u guys were soul mates, then maybe u should stick w/ being friends.

That kind of goes with the issue of can you be friends after a relationship. You can, but you have to make it work like you would with any friendship.
You have to recognize the haazards that are present such as awkwardness or even open feelings of hostility for one another. Usually, one person is better about it than the other. One person usually feels ripped off or bitter towards the otherIt's your job to keep open conversation between you two to prevent that from happening.

from personal experience it possible to remain friends with the opposite sex i slept with with a friend and we are still good friends even though we have both moved on

Even more so. If you had feelings for them, it wasn't such a bad break up and you've both moved on, then you still wanna know how the person is doing and want to talk to them once in a while.

No cos deep down you will never lose those feelings. I thought the same & was friends with an ex for ages until he got married & had a kid then i was just really jealous & it hurt that he didnt want that with me.
I obviously still had feelings for him without realising it at the time.

I've remained friends with men I've cared deeply for but not been in love with...crushes I guess. Not sure if I'd feel that way if I deeply loved a man then had to be just friends

You can, but it involves hard work inasmuch as you have to be prepared to put aside (if you can) your feelings of attraction and concentrate on being friends.
It's a long, hard road, but worth it in the end.

You should act maturely and learn to control yourself. What if she gets married will you still have feelings for her ?
The majority of those in relationships have had previous lovers before and they have mutually agreed to make space for each other, why can't you?
