36.92 g * 110 calories / 28.4 g = (36.92*110/28.4) calories = 143 calories

(80 miles/1 hour) * (1 hour/3600 s) * (5280 ft/1 mile) = (80*5280/3600) ft/s = 117.33 ft/s

Very easy & very important to understand. For every equation (equal sign) the most you can solve for is one unknown (uniquely)

Simple proportionalization:

28.4/110=36.92/X, now solve for X.

U can set up the equation a multitude of ways, perhaps easier for you this way:

X/36.92=110/28.4, solve for X

X= (110/28.4)*36.92=143

for the second one u need another ratio, how many feet in a mile?and then it is a snap...

okay

28.4/110 = 36.92/x

cross multiply --> 28.4x = 36.92(110)

28.4x = 4061.2

4061.2/28.4 = 143 calories

80mph = 422,400 feet per hour
422,400/ 60 = 7040 feet per minute
7040/60 = 117.33333... feet per second

hope this helps

1) Assuming there is a linear relationship between calories and grams of cereal, a direct proportion can be set up:

(110 calories / 28.4g cereal) = (X calories / 36.92g cereal)

This gives: 143 calories

2) 80 miles/hr * 5280 ft/mile * 1hr/60min * 1 min/60s = 117.33 ft/s

If something is forty% smaller, you in simple terms subtract forty%. So forty% of forty energy is sixteen: you are trying this via multiplying forty via 0.4. the respond could be forty - sixteen = 24 A shorter way could in simple terms be to multiply via forty via 0.6, because of the fact it incredibly is one million-0.4.
