My guess is this is a recent thing, I know for a fact he couldn't have been on steroids last season, the Chargers had a bit of a rookie scandal with Castillo testing positive before they drafted him. The media here raised a big stink and subseqently all rookies were tested before coming into camp, Merriman was clean. In the offseason, Merriman put on 15 lbs of muscle and cut his body fat down to 5%, I think he used steroids to do that. On the plus side, "Lights out" fans won't have to worry about a second offense, he will now have to undergo dozens of random drug tests every year through the remainder of his career.
For all the people who think he is the only one out there on steroids, stop kidding yourselves, alot of them do it.

Both his A and B samples were positive. So it is true that there were steroids in his system. It doesn't mean that he has been shooting up all year, but somehow they got in his system. There are several ways this can happen, but it is his responsibility.

Sucks that his rep will be tarnished. I was starting to think he was the next dominate linebacker. He still may but who knows what sort of advantage the steroids gave him.

Well, according to the news he tested positive. He is appealing the results and there may be another side to the story.

However, it doesn't look good for him.
