Well yeah.
Molecules expand in heat and decrease in cold.
Thats why there are spaces in the sidewalks, for winter to summer. And plus the microwave cooks from the inside out, as where the oven cooks outside to in.

Um.....I'm not sure why you are asking this question but the answer could be yes and no. Do you relize that hotdogs can EXPLODE in the micowave? Marshmallows will expand and explode also. But if you stick say....a carrot in the microwave it would not "expand" like a hotdog but it will explode if left in long enough.

foods with a skin-like outer layer tend to explode when microwaved for too long. the heat builds pressure within the food, and this pressure cannot gradually escape from the skin, so it busts open. this also happens with hardboiled eggs. to prevent explosions, you can cut the food into pieces, or just make shallow slices along the surface that will allow air in.

Sure - a bratwurst, a vienna sausage, kielbassa. I wouldn't suggest a microwave as an expansion tool though - maybe a magnifying glass ?????

yes. Molecules tend to expand when heated, so even if it wouldn't be completely obvious, on a microscopic level, it is expanded.
