The cane, yes, and in addition: harder courses at all ages in school; greater rewards for the best behaved and best performing pupils; greater punishment and more supervision for those pupils who behave badly, break rules and perform poorly; more power to the teachers to punish and reward. I advocate totally unequal treatment for each student which is in direct proportion to his/her behaviour and performance. Pure and simple. No more 'confused' children who can't quite understand (a) right from wrong, and (b) who's the boss.

I think that there should definatly be less of the whole Political Correctness - its getting ridiculous! I don't necessarily think that there should be caning at school again...but I do think that a teacher should be able to touch a student if they're misbehaving! - currently if a teacher even grabs a students arm, they could get fired! I think PC etc is getting insane.

Yes, the sooner the better. As for Europe they don't want the UK. The UK is treated like an outcast. I'm no fund of casts but in Hinduism there is a cast system and the lower casts are untouchables literally. The UK is treated this way.

yes i would iwent to a strict catholic school where you wouldnt dare look at a teacher never mind say anything out of place. we do need to teach real values even the basic please and thank you would be a start. and to stop teaching. get them before they get you attitude
