OK.
1) They lack the means for self-reproduction outside a host cell.
2) They do not possess a cell membrane or metabolise on their own.
3) Viruses are not made up of cells, they are acellular.
4) They do not meet all the criteria of the generally accepted definition of life.
5) Viruses are little more than a gene transporter, consisting of nucleic acid surrounded by a protective coat of protein called a capsid.

In response to the previous post - his first point is wrong. There are some bacteria that are unable to replicate outside a host cell, and so that is not a unique characteristic to viruses.
