No. Some IQ test can be culturally biased and instead of measuring intellegence, it can be measuring how familiar a person is wich a particluar subject. If the test is given in english and english is the second language then the test is not only measuring intelligence but also how well they understand the language.

It depends on who you ask, some say yes and some say no. I would argue that the answer is somewhere in the middle. An IQ test basically measures the knowledge that you have acquired up to a certain point in your life as compared to others in your age group. One example of an IQ question is, Who is Catherine the Great? Is knowing who Catherine the Great an accurate reflection of someone's intelligence? I don't think so. This is acquired knowledge, and easily learned. It is not a measure of innate intelligence. In Sweden, IQ test score jumped by an astonshing 20 points within one generation. Why such a huge jump, if intelligence is innate as some champions of IQ say.

The problem with these tests is that they are not objective. They are based on what the test creators consider to be measures of intelligence. While the results are interesting, they should be taken with a grain of salt.

I don't know. I've taken a half dozen or so of these. I've gotten mixed results ranging from between 125 and as high as 141. I suppose, according to this, I would be considered to be in the "above average" category. On the other hand I'm not exactly outstanding when it comes to dealing with certain kinds of people in ways others mostly seem to take for granted. I suck at math, but I seem fairly okay with identifying number patterns and things. I'm going to say IQ tests aren't what they're cracked up to be. Maybe they're not necessarily a measure of how smart you are, but rather simply an indication of your ability to take tests or something.

No. What is intelligence? Who determines what in intelligence and why do they get to make that determination? Intelligence is subjective. IQ test measure how well one meet a specific criteria determined by someone else. Culturally speaking, intelligence in culturally bases. Each culture of the world will have a different view of intelligence.

Yes, by what we call general intelligence, G. They are quite accurate in this area and only a purblind fool would say a test that measures the speed of counting numbers backward or a test for object rotation in space, is " culturally biased ". On average, under a normal curve, we can see the full range of human intelligence. Those that exhibit strong G, tend to correlate well from section to section, in intelligence testing. This is quite well accepted by people who work in this field, despite what PC and ideological driving people will say. Causes of this variance in intelligence are, of course, still being debated.

NO, the basic reason are that intelligence test are prepared to judge and usually select persons on general reasoning and to possess a band of traits like maths, verbal, analytical, etc.

Further, they are best to judge the persons for top level jobs if the purpose is to estimate the personal skills for medium and lower level tasks, their usefulness is reduced.

Finally, you should also understand what is meaning of "intelligence", what intelligence u are deserving and what traits it must tap to provide u the mist intelligent person.
