Introversion/extroversion within personality types.

Shy is introverted so these people do not like the limelight, keep to themselves and would hate making public appearances in front of large numbers.

Extroverts are opposite.

I like it. Its not that im necessarily shy but just quiet when I want to be. I usually am the one at school that is watching and listening to everyone else. Im just easy going thats all. I do get shy around a guy I like though. I think its hilarious how people will see me outside of school and be shocked of how different I am. I find out so much by being shy too. Just because I dont talk, people assume I cant hear. They will stand right in front of me telling secrets and gossip. Plus I get to see people for who they really are. They usually ignore me and I can see them totally change around certain people. Sometimes it can get frustrating, but overall I think that being shy works for me.

Being shy is not being able to make friends as easily. For some people it just takes a while longer. Also the way shy people socially interact is very limited, they don't like too much attention, and it isn't too able to function romantically.

heart pounds, face turns red if too much attention is put on you - feel uncomfortable in large groups - find it easier to reach out to people one-on-one - shy people are not stupid or snobby, but sometimes are viewed that way - they are just a little nervous in social situations, usually afraid to be judged by others, maybe lack a little confidence, but with a little practice and taking risks in baby steps shyness can be overcome - sometimes maturity and experience can cure it cause you finally get to the point where you say the hell with shyness, life is too short.

People confuse quietness with shyness. Because I am quiet so much of the time people assume that I may be shy, I really am not. I just don't talk as much and I enjoy time spent alone.

Being shy is scared of being called in in class. Or public speaking, or talking to people. Nothing is wrong with this, they just feel uncomfortable.

By keeping your mouth shut, allowing another person to speak, and listen to that person as he/she is talking. Don't make every situation be about you.
