The hole in the bottle is probably too big. Raise his or her head a little bit, you know, make sure that they are not lying flat on their back and get a nipple with a smaller hole.

ok for one i hope you mean formula, because babies dont need actual real milk until they are a year old anyways it all depends on your baby. some babies eat more, some eat less. my son was eating 8 ounces every 2-4 hours. try and see how much your baby will take at every feeding, then you start getting into a routine How much formula your baby needs depends not only on weight, but also on his age. Don't expect a newborn (or any baby, for that matter) to follow a schedule or mathematical formula. If you're starting a newborn on formula, try giving him only 30-60ml (a couple of ounces) at each feed for the first week. By the time your baby is one month old, he will probably take 90-120ml / 3 or 4oz at each feed, and will consume anywhere from 400-800ml / 14 to 28oz in one day. You'll soon sense if your baby needs more - he'll finish the feed quickly and then look around for second helpings! From the age of two months up to six months, you should be feeding your baby 120-180ml / 4-6oz at a feeding, and he'll have anything from 700ml to over a litre / 23 to 35oz a day.

talk to your pediatric an about gag reflex, your baby not be able to suck off a bottle nipple because of the fact it goes in her mouth and if she has gag reflex it will make her gag for having something in her mouth as like a bottle nipple. if this isn't the case keep her head supported up a little bit more so that way the milk isn't just dripping to the back of her throat, also make sure the whole isn't too big and the milk is going in so fast.

It seems to me as if you should call your baby's Dr. hun. If your baby did not have a problem until recently your baby may have GERD which is gastric esphogeal reflux disease. This is not uncommon with new borns. The Dr. gives the baby liquid medicine and then the baby can eat easier. Have you tried new nipples? It also could be that the hole in the nipple is way too big. Hold your sweet baby up a little bit so that it does not choke. I wish you Good Luck !!!!

Check the size of the hole in the nipple. (I take it your not breast feeding). And make sure it's not too big. If feeding formula, check expiry dates. If that's ok try switching to another formula. Maybe the baby simply doesn't like the formula it's on. I would also consult with the doctor. Some babies have a reaction to certain formulas. Your baby may need a soy based formula if lactose intolerant. Call your doctor and make an appointment.

I have had three children and that is a normal reflex. If you are bottle feeding, try giving the baby a little bit of a bottle. This will give the baby a chance to ingest the milk and to get used to the sucking reflex. Also, try burping the baby after some of the milk is ingested.

Your baby should be sitting up, not laying down, when drinking from a bottle. Also, it sounds like the hole in the nipple may be too large and (s)he is getting too much at a time.

I have a 5 month old baby and breast fed for only 2 months. I can tell you to make sure the breast is not covering the nose and also the nipple is clean each time you feed.
