I go to a greek orthodox church so youll have to realize a biase here, Among the older generations thier is still a downright hatred towards the turks, and to be honest i would be a bit suprised if thier wasn't. Not only have they fought brutal wars against each other since greeks independence, the turks have effectively mounted a war against the patriarcate of constapole, and litterally made greeks and other christians into slave soilders to murder thier own kin. Its a deep wound.

younger generations seem to be a lot more open to each other.

Greek and Turkish people (except for few mariginal ones) generally like each other. They are actually like the same nation with different religion.

I am Turkish and I feel home in Greece and when we are in Europe or USA we make the best friends with each other.

Many Turks and Greeks live in each other's countries for hundreds of years. Many marriages took place among these two nations.

The issues are mainly politicial and artifical.

And one note to the person who mentioned the Trojan war. I want to believe you were joking. Don't you ever read anything before you open your mouth about a subject? Turks were thousands of miles and centuries away from the region during the Trojan war.

No...there is a long history of fighting between the two. I'm not sure it's quite as true now but it seems that there are still some bad feelings remaining between the two.

Not generally, no. Something about their having been killing each other off and on for a few millenia has that effect.

I'm pretty sure they still hate each other. Does the Trojan War ring any bells?
