Here in CA the father must sign a statement of paternity in order for his name to be on the birth certificate as the father. It is still up to the mother what last name to give the child.

You just asked this question 3 days ago. Didn't you get the answers you wanted?

Which ever last name the baby has, you should pay support for this child for the next 18 years. If you were man enough to produce a child, you should be man enough to support it.

Now, next time, keep your pants on and get married before you have any more kids.

That is a decision that is up to the mother so you need to discuss this with her. If you are going to be an active part of the child's life I think the baby should have your last name.

What you can do is get a court order to make sure she does put your last night on. As the father of the baby you have rights too don't let people fool you on that. So good luck

it's up to you.... also if you were to go to child support the child would get your last name no matter what because your the dad...... sit down and talk to your ex and find out what the plan is and make sure your saving money for this baby before it's born..... make time for this new baby and make sure what ever you do make sure you have it on paper like the receipts...

i think it shouldn't be up to you to decide. I think it should be up to the mother.
