Yeah, I went to gouna at least 10 times, I now visit once a year. Gouna is not consistent when it comes to nightlife. It really depends on the time u go. If you are going during the high season, Nov-Feb, then expect a great night life. There are rave parties twice a week at night in Mangroovy beach. Tabasco pub is hot everyday and the arena discotheque.
If you go in the off season, do not bother staying up late. It is almost dead or people tend to be having an elegant dinner in the marina.
Overall, I would say Gouna is not the best spot for a party animal at least when compared to Sharm el sheikh, but it has it fans and is one of the top tourist destinations.

yes i am an egyptian who has been to gouna .
it's a small place comparing it to sharm or hurghada
but the sea is very nice and nice food it's a very cozy and not very crowded place.

el gouna is very lively!!
i've been there.. i dunno why ppl say it isnt..
there are the quiet parts too.. but its MAINLY lively!

Go there if you need a resort, but not for an active person...

it is quite, i ve been there!
but there is a shuttle bus which can take you to the fun.
