I know there was plenty of racial tension 1972-1976 during the bussing we had in Boston, MA. They would make kids go to schools in another town so everyone could have equal schooling. They should have just used all the money they were wasting on bussing to improve the bad schools. Kids had to ride hours to get to school. No time for a job or homework.

One of the fiercest tense revolts was caused when the very many Black US soldiers returned from Vietnam. They had become used to being treated fairly and equally abroad but on their return they had the same problems that were there when they left to go to war. Fit to fight and die for your country, but still forced to use a separate waiting room, give up your bus seat to a white person if all seats were full, refused service in shops and restaurants, unable to attend 'white' colleges, etc., etc., ............the whole caboodle................
