absolutely not. even if youre a beginner, get a good guitar in the $300 to $500 range if youre planning to actually play and not blow it off in a month or two. ive learned your guitar limits you, and its alot easier to learn on a good guitar.

No! It will just fall apart on you, and you'll spend a fortune getting new strings all the time. If you are a beginner, you want a quality guitar. I'm not saying to get an xplorer first thing, but I'm not saying get a horrible Wal-mart guitar either. Trust me, this is comming from a 4 year guitar player, it's worth it to go for the nicer guitar!

I build high end guitars for a living, and I have a different take on this.

WalMart has an acoustic that states it has a SOLID TOP. I have goofed with these and they are ok relative to the price.

If you decide to buy a discount store guitar, make sure it has a solid top, then go directly from the store to a guitar shop that does repairs- or a luthier- and have them set it up. It'll cost about $50 but will be well worth it. Ask the shop to install some phosphorous bronze extra light strings while you're at it.

I don't know about their guitars but I can tell you that you should keep away from store brand band instruments. Quality is poor and many times they do not stand up to use or repair. My guess is that the guitars would fall into the same situation.

i bought mine from ebay, and it was a fender, i don't remember how much i spent.

I'm sure the one at wal-mart isn't very good quality, but it is a starter.

If anything spend an extra $50 for a better guitar that you might really like with better sound.

if you arent sure whether you would like playing it, then a wal-mart guitar is good until you decide if you really want to play it .... its alot cheaper than buying a nice guitar for 200 dollars and then deciding you dont like playing it...

I have a friend who plays guitar, and he said First Act's are good for beginners.

I think they are OK for a beginner, but they are harder to play than some of the more costly guitars.

I know I am a little off topic, but what do you think of electronic music nowdays?
I think Mp3s are the most popular music format out there..

I just found this site related to downloading MP3s right off the internet:

La mayoría de los juguetes que he comprado para mi hija son de sitios web y después de comprarle un piano de juguete no podría faltar una guitara, como con los otros productos no tengo nada que reprochar, buena calidad, excelentes canciones y además muy resistente, una buena compra.
