And please, something besides the ol' "hormones" excuse, since when to hormones excuse the behavior? Hormones also give people the urge to be violent but there's a difference between feeling and acting. How the hell does anyone think they're gonna get respect by being a manwhore. I mean shoot, I'm a guy and I don't get it. I mean I love women and if there's any urges I'll just beat em off, because I'd rather respect my woman by giving myself to her and not someone else. I mean, if I was a woman I couldn't handle the thought my husband sleeping with other women. We owe women the same respect that we demand from them. I don't think children should have to be sentenced to fatherless homes and STDs either.

And yeah yeah I know women have done these things but lets face it, most people who are promiscuous and cheat on their spouses are MEN.

I'm not buying that "testerone" theory. I was a football player and a Marine. My sex "drive" is higher but I still don't understand how "feeling" justifies doing.

Because women have much more at stake during sex. Remember the purpose of sex is procreation. The pleasure and social value are the stick and carrot that we have evolved to facilitate an otherwise strange, dangerous and resourse draining activity.

Biologically a man who has sex with lots of women will have lots of women raising his children. I've stripped away the social repercussion for the purpose of this arguement. I understand that this puts strain on his relationships with these women but hey! his genes prosper.

The Woman though runs the risk of having several men uncertain as to who her child was fathered by and in this case the men may very well leave her to raise the child solo.

So this explaination I hope goes one level deeper then just 'hormones' but remember once we place our social makeup over the picture it looks somewhat different. Since it is becoming more common to have less children now and place more resources into thier developement. But biological structure and social ones don't always aligne completely.

I agree that it may seem men are more sexually immoral than women, but alot of it has to do with the men that brought those men up. I was raised without a father, so I learned more about respect for women from my mother. I have never cheated on anyone I've dated because it would eat at my conscience. However, to say more men do it than women would be presumptuous. To be honest, women are just as immoral as men...they just hide it better. Most men are stupid creatures who's main mission in life, since puberty, was to have sex with as many women as possible. It's not right, but that's how alot of men think. And to give you an idea about women, I've had affairs with 4 married women in my life and none of their husbands found out about it. And my first impression of them was not even remotely close to that kind of person. So men and women are sexually immoral. You can't put a percentage on it.

It's because most societies in world history have been male-dominated, therefore men have for centuries done what they wanted and gotten away with it. Even fifty years ago, if a man cheated on his wife, she would not dare get a divorce because it was believed that he could do that, but she could not. The expectation is still that a man does what he wants and the lady be chaste, because if a man is whore, he's cool. If a girl is a whore, she's a whore.

I think men are more likely to be sexually immoral because they are less likely to become emotionally involved in a relationship. For a woman to be sexually involved, there usually has to be some kind of emotional connection and trust. Men don't need that like women do.

I would not even say men are more sexually immoral, because if anything, men's behavior is just a reflection of our society's definition of masculinity. I would consider this less of a question of morality than of simply conforming to a societal norm.

Your woman is very lucky to have a man like you. You have morals, values, and you love and respect your woman very much, this is what we all ultimately want in a man. You are rare indeed..

It is about genetic survival.

It is hardwired into us as is agression and avarice.

It takes a civilized man to suppress it.
