A wound is a subset of an injury. A wound incorporates damage to the skin, an injury may be beneath unbroken skin.

A papercut or bullet hole would be a wound, while a burn, cut or sprain are all injuries.

You can have an injury without a wound. ( Internal bleeding, broken bone) But every wound ( tear in skin or tissue ) is an injury

a wound is when you cut yourself. an injury is when you break your leg or something.
