A wound is a subset of an injury. A wound incorporates damage to the skin, an injury may be beneath unbroken skin.
A papercut or bullet hole would be a wound, while a burn, cut or sprain are all injuries.

A wound is like a cut on the skin or an abrasion; an injury is like tennis elbow or a sprained ankle, a more physical thing.
