Go to a plumbers merchant and get a 15mm compression cap. You will see how to use it. Turn-off the hot water first, at the cylinder. And be prepared for some water spillage. Turn-on the hot taps to drain most of th ewater out of the system without it going all over.Tighten it hand tight, then 1/2 turn tighter with a spanner.

Do nothing, its not eating anything.
Remove the red hose from its fitting and dump.
If you are concerned about water dribbling from the Neva valve, buy a "stop-end" from B & Q and replace valve, its the same thread so it is a quick job. Turn off water in attic first and turn on hot tap in kitchen to remove the "head"
Second scenario.... If ,as sometimes happens the Neva valve won't budge, remove plastic top, and use pliers to gently turn 9
0 degrees.
SKY got it wrong

If it is a copper pipe then you will have to cap it off, you can buy push fit caps that simply push onto the old pipe, if it is a rubberised pipe of of a tap/fawcet the simply turn off the tap/fawcet. DOnt worry about having a cold fill machine, they are not hugely more to run and whatever way it works you have to heat the water somewhere...

it is quite easy to get a blank cap with an olive in it from DIY store and then fit it youself using the right size spanner. It really is easy so have a go before calling a plumber

Hopefully, there is a shutoff valve on the hot water supply. If this the case, turn the valve off and leave it off. Just connect the cold water hose and turn it on. You should be ready to go.

Cold only machines are more energy friendly. Just clamp off the hot and it should be fine
