The first thing to do as many shrinks will tell you is to get closure and gain acceptance of the fact that you can never be with the person. Imagine the person with his respective spouse/partner
and his children (if he has kids). If there are other reasons keeping you from your love.Reflect over them with a lucid clarity (preferably alone) so that you can get an unbiased perspective and most importantly, your OWN perspective on the matter so that you can be totally sure and walk away without regrets and with your dignity in tow. There will be pain, let it run its course, but when your vision of the situation stops being blurred and tainted with what you want for that moment of weakness , let go of the pain and turn it into power (Oprah Winfrey said that). The power to move on with someone who can truly love you for who you are and whom you can love in equal measure.

Gosh do i ever wish i knew the answer to that one, girly!!! The male i am most in love with is my own brother and i would marry him in a moment if i could, or even just live with him! But, alas, i know this can never be! Currently, he is up in Cannada and i do not know if i will ever even see him again! So... i hope you will get some good responses, which may be will help me too. Get REAL busy! The more idle time you have the more likely you are to focus on "forbidden" thoughts.

stay busy and remember things that are forbidden are usually that way for a reason to protect you from some sort of harm
