This is a loveless world, so when two people, ANY TWO PEOPLE, fall in love, who are we to tell them not to. And to all those people who believe it is against God's wishes, well, so is judging others.

Why?

Really, that's my answer. Why should the same gender enter into a legally-binding union? For what purpose?

I say, don't get married just so you can feel accepted, or normal. Marriage isn't the only venue for saying, "I love you." In fact, that declaration is best made in other ways, as the family stands much to lose if essential pillars are missing.

Frankly, IMHO "same-sex marriages" look more like "conscience-soothers," political statements, deceptions (concerning motives), and social attacks on the family and tradition than anything else.

I think they should be able to get married & be together with who ever they want if they want to.Who am I to say who to be with or who to love.I think its unfair when two are not allowed to marry & live together ,, & if one dies,,the family doesnt acknowledge the union as a marriage,,some because they personnally didnt approve of the relationship.Gays will never be banned from society,,they came out of the closet & there is no need to go back. Its hard enough for them to live a so called normal life in society due to ignorance. The more people can except others,,the more they will seem/be normal to straights. For the record,,I am straight.

Aha, that's a trick question. The very definition of marriage is the act of a man and a woman coming together in a legal partnership.

That's like if you asked, "What do you think about double Hydrogen atom Oxygen?" Oxygen already has a definition - C02. You can't just call 2H a special type of Oxygen.

Same goes for Marriage. But I think that same sex couples should invent a word that describes their partnership. Personaly, I like the word "Migula" but they can come up with anything they like.

i believe if a hetro couple can met, gay married, and get divorced in Vegas over a weekend then gay couples should be allowed the same privilege. I here all this stuff about the sanctity of married. When their are shows like the bachelor and married by America on TV their is no sanctity. I think that if the Church is against gay marriage then they should perform them. Same as a catholic priest will not marry non- catholics. But they can still marry in the eyes of the law.

Why can't two adults choose who they want to be married to? Is it anyone elses' business? As a heterosexual, I can safely say that I don't believe my own sexuality would be compromised or endangered by gay marriage, and I think that's true of everyone.

We're far too intolerant of people who want to live alternate lifestyles than the one society has deemed appropriate and fit.

Time for a change, people!

Honestly, I think it's none of anyone else's business except theirs. Really doesn't bother me. It doesn't affect me in any way. Let them live life and be happy! ;) Religion shouldn't get invovled in this situation as it shouldn't get involved in government. I'm so sick and tired of hearing some Christians say "God hates them" and "They should die and I hate them!"... People hate what they don't understand. There are so many hate crimes and killings just because it isn't "normal" to people. Really doesn't make sense to me as God is supposed to love everyone! We're all supposed to spread love.. not hate... it's not peoples jobs to punish and critisize, just to make the world a better place. Have a great day ;)

I think they have just as much right to as anyone else. It is a sad sorry state of affairs when two people that honestly love one another and want to make a lifelong commitment have to get put down by big brother.

I neither condemn nor condom homosexuality. Is it a behavior that I would choose for myself or my children? Absolutely not. Homosexuality in it's very fabrication is contrary to nature. Same sex relations or marriages serve no useful propose biologically. The same sex can not reproduce together, it's impossible. The legalization of same sex marriages would erode the moral and ethical fiber on society. Should they be allowed to co habitat, if that's what they choose. However, to allow their union to be legalized under the covenant of marriage is egregious.

I'm more open to "domestic partnerships" rather than the definition of "marriage", simply because I think DP fits better.

Hey, it's a whole new world. You either adapt or you become extinct, that's what I say.
