I can remember ad campaigns when I was a kid. Every now and again, someone would sling some mud, but they were mostly about what that person planned to do while in office, or whatever they were running for. Now, the only thing I ever hear is "this person did that" or "that person didn't do that".....it sounds like my 3 and 6 year old fighting. It really makes me not want to vote at all!!

Yes I am, it's tiring, how are we supposed to even know what a candidate stands for if all they do is attack their opponents?

Don't vote for candidates who only sling mud!

I am a Democrat but I will not vote for a democrat who uses the other guy as a platform...

Fortunately, I still have some Dems to choose from.... not many, but some really good ones.

Good Question.

I know what you mean. If you're a Democrat, I think you should go with your instincts and not vote. If you're a Republican, I suggest you try to tune out the mud slinging and go ahead and vote.

You can blame the media. They report "sexy" news, which is mud slinging, and they ignore the candidates that have a real message.

Bad media.

Making you not vote is one option some candidates are looking for.

Mudslinging keeps your eyes off the true issues of the election. I mean, how long would it take for Congress to:

1. Have affordable health care.

2. Mandate alternative energy policies.

3. Have minimum wage a living wage.

4. Have a more equitable tax policy.

5. Close loopholes allowing outsourcing of jobs.

And how many times do they have to "fix" social security.

The ads feed off the ignorance of voters, and the laziness of the local press when it comes to covering elections. Since those two things seem to be at an all time high, yes, the ads are looking more and more offensive.

Under democracy one party always devotes its chief energies to trying to prove that the other party is unfit to rule--and both commonly succeed, and are right... The United States has never developed an aristocracy really disinterested or an intelligentsia really intelligent. Its history is simply a record of vacillations between two gangs of frauds. - H.L. Mencken

Hi there, it has always been this way. I just stick with the issues that I believe in, and look at each candidates website. I then vote for which candidate cares more about what I care about.
I really only care about the governors race, I could care less about the other races.

I think there should be more mudslinging. I'd like to hear how candidate A was tardy for class in the 3rd grade...its important to my vote, and they don't tell us those things. When I was a kid they told it was part of permanent record...well, now is the time to examine that record.

Oh yes, I am! Funny thing is, though, a lot of Americans are sick of it, but yet they perpetrate it even further. We all need to grow the hell up and start holding our government officials accountable to ethical standards. They are the ones who are dividing this nation because they're afraid of US turning against them. That's what we need to do. We ALL need to stand up and say, "Knock it the hell off! Do your job, not this high school BS of he said she said!". It truly is enough already. They don't work for us, they work for themselves for personal political power.

Yes. And they all do it. Throwing mud at each other--and they look and sound just like a bunch of barnyard pigs.
