Is it malware?
It shows up as a browser helper object with AVG anti-spyware, but it doesn't actually say it's spyware, and it didn't show up on previous scans I ran with ZoneAlarm, AdAware and Windows Defender.

it is a browser helper object and it is spyware. it tracks websites visited. it can be difficult to remove completly.

Search results that appear when you enter either a search query or an incorrect website address into your Web browser's address bar allow you to see search listings relevant to your intended address bar entry - a better alternative to simply showing you an error message.
If you wish to remove this Search Assistant feature:
1. From your computer's Start button, select "Settings," then select "Control Panel."
2. Double-click on the "Add/Remove Programs" icon.
3. Select "Search Assistant - My Search."
4. Click "Change/Remove."
This feature will then be uninstalled.

It is a parasite, It is in with cool web search go here and download this from trend micro,it is free and it will work

It's actually a form of malware because it has a marketing function and a behavior tracking function.... it is harmless, but does not need to be on your system, so delete it.... I believe you can go to program files and find it, or possibly add/remove programs in control panel to remove it.
