How do you get a 15 year old to go to rehab? They only take them if they are willing and she is sooooo not willing but God help me she needs to go before she kills herself.

I don't know what state you live in, but here in California, you can not force your child into rehab. The rehab facility by law can not and will not hold a child against their will. The kids can leave at anytime they want all they have to do is walk out the front door.

Ok to give you guys a reality check for those who have younger children or perhaps in the future will have them. First keep them away from drugs at all cost because once they have them it is like hell to get them out. My daughter dropped out of school at the age of 14 due to drugs. The police department can not do anything until she is legally busted with possession and then she would just get probation and community service for it.

If she's not willing to change right now ... then it's not going to be easy ... maybe a half-way home will do better or sober living ... look into different programs they have for children on drugs around your area ... I'm sure there's something ... my friend is caught up in Meth ( and so are a few family members ) and it has to be one of the hardest things I've ever done ... to watch your loved ones kill themselves is horrible, they lie, cheat, steal ... pretty much she's going to put your life through hell if you don't get her help now ... she's still pretty young ... try to find out why she's doing the drugs ... what friends she's hanging around ... get close to her again ... be firm but caring ... I'm sorry but once she's addicted to it ... she's going to be struggling her whole life ... it will turn her into the daughter you never wanted ... she'll break your heart - so be strong ... that's all I can say ... there's only so much you can do ... !
Update:
That's great ... I really hope she sticks to it ... be there for her whenever she needs you .. make sure to stay involved in her treatment ... and never never give up on her - she needs you the most right now ... always nice to hear good news ... !!

I am soooo sorry. I have a little sister that is a crack head! I mean she has put my family through so much and has been in and out of rehab 3 times. It's not working and she is a good liar. I don't talk to her anymore it's been 3 years. Good luck maybe the school counselor could recommend something. People on that crap only think about them selfs and don't see anything wrong with it. They think everyone is against them and that drugs are there only answere then all they care about is how there gonna get tweeked out. So I'm sorry. I know how it feels .....

Is she dong anything illegal to acquire this drug...re:stealing or so on? My sister had a severe drug problem from the time she was13 till she was finally put in prison at the age of 19. She had been in a out of town prison for girl to try to get sober and straightened out..there she got her 8th grade diploma...she did great till she got out and got around those same influences. At 19 she stole our mothers car and her money and went to St. Louis where she got into something and ended up in jail...try this please... call your local probation office and see what they can do...There is a place in Lincoln Illinois that take kids and puts them in a military environment like boot camp..there is structure and alot of discipline there. You may be able to get help that way..Best wishes and God Bless.

I am a 16 year old and have been attending AA because i have an alcohol problem. I am doing it so i will be a better mom to my 8 month old son, whom some people have been trying to take from me. I'd say, your girl needs some thing to properly motivate her, but in her case, I do not know what that would be.

Call the police on her. Meth is illegal. Tell the police she needs help. Maybe that will work. Scare her. Lock her in her room.
