I'll keep trying. Either the previous responders are more intent on being smart, or they don't understand the question.

We all know that we recognise someone as male or female. Not talking about whether we are gay or not - that is not relevant. We might prefer one gender or the other, whether they are the same as we are or the other. But how do we know ? What is it about the face of a human that tells us instictively their gender. We can tell without any obvious clues, like hair style, make-up, etc.

Just think. Most of the people you see today - how little of their face do you need to see to determine their gender. Not a lot.

The cheekbones and jawline. Oh, well, facial hair too, of course.

I actually believe that if grooming weren't a factor, then most men and women favor each other aesthetically. But, since the question doesn't have any exclusions, here are my reasons to recognize a womans face:

1. Minimal Facial hair
2. No Large dark pores around the face.
2. Eyebrows groomed.
3. Smaller Features
4. Women have more weathered skin

The eyebrows and facial hair are always a dead giveaway for a womans face. Also, men are just naturally larger than women and all of the features on their face would be also. There are a lot of variables that make this hard to answer. But, the true test would be if you took an ungroomed woman and a man the same height and weight as the woman and compared their faces. I bet that it would be much harder to tell the difference.

I am having problems with the question, I am finding it hard to understand.
I think God has placed in us an ability to perceive the difference, that's all.
A blind person can usually determine what the gender is, by listening to their voice and other instincts.
It's hard to explain.
Of course, a woman is more softer(or should be softer) and her skin soft and supple, but your not looking for the obvious, are you?
I am wondering why this is so important to you.
I guess, we just have to accept that God has given us the ability to perceive, that's all.

First off, men have larger heads. Even if you find a 6ft. tall girl and stand her next to a 5 1/2ft. tall guy his skull will tend to be larger w/a bigger forhead. Also, the bone structure around the eye sockets of men is thicker, same for the chin. Men's features are more squared off and larger while women's tend to be smaller and sleaker. Of course there's exceptions to these rules, we've all seen someone in our lives that we just can't answer immediately, but that's the general answer.

Hmmmm. I think of women as soft and round and men as chisled and angular.

Asian men I find to be very androgenous, even "manly" looking Asian male I feel can easily be made up like a woman because they have softer features.

Some Native Americans have strong bone structure which can make a woman more masculine.

Is that what you mean???

Basically smooth and round...woman. Hard and angular...man.

Its in the shape of the face I think. Men have a noticeably rounder face, and women are for lack of a better word, streamlined.

Also hair, be it facial or on top of their head helps sometimes.

specific. To me it would not make lots experience to call something 'masculine' in spite of the undeniable fact that if say 50% of fellows exhibit that high quality and 40% of ladies folk exhibit it. It turns into puzzling and can somewhat honestly bring about stereotyping and prejudice. i think of it extremely is greater efficient to reject them, for the main section. it extremely is lots much less complicated to narrate to people as persons once you at the instant are not thinking approximately their characteristics in terms of ways masculine and woman they're and how this pertains to their organic and organic intercourse. Edit "Gender techniques make contributions to men being considered as disposable, to male victimization no longer being recognized, to male suffering being a source of humor, and to the dismissal of fellows's concerns as "whining" and "no longer getting any", so i think of the subject IS correct, honestly." precisely.

ooh, we're doin this in sociology at the moment. It's based on physical appearance e.g hair, make-up, clothes, body shape, etc, behaviour and voice (as guys talk lower than women), stuff like that. hope that helps

It's not just the face. body language plays a HUGE part. Verbal inflection is another.
