I know most hypochondriacs don't admit they are one.......but when I am feeling well..I realize I over analyze every ill feeling I get. I'm always dying of something. Cancer, kidney failure, the list goes on and on depending on the symptoms....and the internet is the worst thing to help make you feel better because it will almost always tell you that your symptoms are always something major and scare you to death. I try all these home remedies all the time.. Anyone else like this.....and sick to death of it? no pun lol

To SassyOldBroad....I realize that we can be pain the as**s but it's a mental thing and it's not something that going to a burn center and watching those suffering will cure....if anything that will make us worry even more that something like that may happen to us. Though I do see your point, I just wish people would realize that it's not something you can just get over.

im afraid of everything, and you are right when you state that the internet is the worst for looking things up. I had a cold and chest congestion...I typed it in to see what can help it and I learned I could have heart failure.lol. I turn every little thing in to something major. I've already been to the ER and had an EKG numerous times ( im only 25). I also like to know that theres a hospital nearby, anywhere im at. I hate it. but its gettin a little better. I saw a counselor and he gave me a prescription for xanax. I'm also eating healthier, which helps a lot too

Not me, but I have a friend who gets like that. She was sure she was dying of mouth cancer. She was hysterical. I went with her to the dentist (finally) and it was a canker sore. Little Ora Gel and all better.

You really should see a therapist. There is an underlying fear that causes you to feel this way. The therapist can help you figure out why you are so afraid. Then you can get over it.

Well congradulations to you for admitting you're a pain in the a*ss! If I were you, and I really wanted to do something positive about my behavior, I would volunteer on a children's cancer ward or perhaps a burn center. You want to know what being sick is really like, that will make it very clear and not give you so much time to think about yourself. AND...you would be helping people that really need it. Godloveya!

Talk to your doctor about it, maybe he can help or recommend a counselor. I grew up in a family of hypochondriacs. The funniest was when my grandmother was sure she had prostrate cancer.
