We helped them in WWI saved them in WWII and fought for them after they left Vietnam. They helped us out during the revolutionary war. So why do they dislike us?

Because they have NEEDED our help. It ticks them off that they couldn't have handle it on their own. After all, they USED TO BE a world power.

If French people dislike the US it is because of the fact that we voted in the most corrupt govt. in history which lead us into a war with an oil rich country that did not pose any threat to the US. On top of that, the USA is the laughing stock of the world because we not only allow illegal immigrants to break the law by coming here, we reward them with jobs, welfare, free healthcare and the WIC program (women, illegals and children). Why would anyone with a brain like the US in it's current state? Thank god people here are waking up and preparing to vote out this administration and hold our new representatives accountable until these issues that have embarrassed us all are addressed.

Interesting question. In my poly sci. class, we saw a documentary that says "Do they hate us?" and it was France's perception on the US. A group of students at the leading university said that they didn't hate the U.S., but miss how the U.S. they use to know. While I won't talk about what I think about this, I will answer your question.

They don't dislike us, it is simply a matter of disagreement with our actions. There is also some frustration that the French feel that our elections have more impact on their daily lives than their election. It is a weird circumstance, but when you have a power like the U.S. that makes an unpopular decision (Iraq), the perception of that country will be negative. Not necessarily dislike, but more of a feeling of what happen to the old U.S. we love.

Of course my thought is....what does it matter what they think of us and what gives them the presumption to think we have to be a certain way for them?
