Go to Wal-Mart or Target and buy their brand of prenatal vitamins. I take Target brand prenatals and they are just as good as prescription ones. I asked my doctor to be sure. You should also drink a lot of water, remember that extra folic acid is good for the baby's brain development, so drink orange juice and eat dark green vegetables. Good luck!

You can go to any health food store (even some pharmacies) and get a prenatal vitamin over the counter. The best ones to take are whole-food supplements.

You are doing it exactly right! Don't forget to increase your water intake as well. And, don't take any medications unless a doctor tells you it is okay... not even Motrin or Tylenol.

Also, sometimes it is good to keep calling medicaid so your application is not put on the bottom of anyones pile of work to do.

I am pretty sure you can get generic prenatals in the walmart pharmacy area right where the regular vitamins are. Start on those as soon as possible, your body needs those vitamins and so does your baby. Eat healthy also from all your food groups. Get plenty of sleep when you can. Good luck

I agree with the others...just go to Walmart or Target and buy the over the counter prenatal vitamins...I didnt know I was pregnant until about 10 weeks along and thats when I started going to the doctor...so, I'm sure you'll be fine if you just take care of yourself...and be careful...oh..I dont know if you know this..but you need to wear your seat belt under your belly...also- there is a book called What to Expect when You're Expecting...its a really good book...very thourough...lots of good info!

They sell really good prenatal vitamins at WalMart and Target for less than $10. If you can't afford that, eat lots of cereal. Check the label, but most cereals are fortified with Folic Acid (one of the most important things early in pregnancy) plus the calcium in the milk is good for you. Also, give your county health department a call. They may have a health clinic or women's health clinic that charges based on your income (our county has one), so if you're a student or don't work services are free.

you can buy prenatal pills at the drugstore. They don't have to be special ones. There are many pills vitamines out there for expecting moms. Ask the pharmacist. don't worry about not seeing the doctor yet. Here in Canada, the OB does't care to see you until youre 13 weeks.

Go the a clinic anyways!!! They will tell you what to do. Believe me I know. The clinic I went to got me in contact with a program called AIM. When I got approved they also paid all the appointments even the previous ones. Hurry honey, prenatal care is soo important.

You need to take folic acid and a daily vitamin. You
don't need to buy the prenatal ones. They are very expensive.
The daily ones are just fine.
Drink lots, eat healthy and get plenty of rest.
Try to keep stress to a minimum.
Congratulations!
