From what I understand in order to use E85 and regular 'dino' fuel FlexFuel vehicles has a sensor and an ECU that monitors the type of fuel being used and adjusts the timing and compression accordingly...So does that mean that regular vehicles can be converted to use E85 just by upgrading the ECU and adding a fuel type sensor?

Or am I just making it sound too easy?

There is a great deal to do to convert a "dino" fueled car to a "Flex" fuel or "E-85 car. Go here for some pretty good insight, and perhaps buy the kit.

no... E85 or specially the ethanol is corrosive to certain parts. so those would need to be changed too.
