I was thinking it would look cool to get bar piercings along the middle of my back and up to the base of my neck, could I get any details about this, if it's possible and how expensive and such?

Not sure on the cost or procedure but I can tell you it is not a permanant thing like earrings or brow/lip piercings. It's also prone to serious infection and you will not be very comfortable having the bars across your back because they won't be flexible to your body...unless you got rubber ones, which I don't think they make those.

Its possible.

Find a professional piercer with a portfolio and make sure she's/he's very familiar with SURFACE PIERCINGS.

They use surface bars for this type of modification. If you see a barbell of any type, RUN.

Its usually all metal. It is possible to get a piercing in a flexible area. Like your clavicle. They use flexible bars (instead of metal ones) with metal ball ends for your neck area.

There's not much skin around your spine, so it'll be under tremendous pressure and you will have a HIGH risk of rejection/infection if left in.

Its a totally different healing method for your body than a lip/ear piercing.

Just make sure you go to a REPUTABLE spot! And remember, most surface piercings are not permanent and have very high risks for infection!

Try it on the back of your neck instead, it has a higher rate of healing than your whole spine. And because its technically just one piercg, your bod will be able to handle the healing better.

Good luck!

Er, I have never heard of such a thing. It sounds painful and not practical. Sorry if it sounds offensive, I am just giving an honest opinion.

there are way too many ways to pierce your back.

it's not new or original anymore. i guarantee you that whatever you have in mind has already been done.

check this out:

that's the body modification ezine, which has pictures of every kind of f'ed up thing you can ever do to your body, from tongue splitting, to penis splitting, to vaginal piercings, surface piercings, scarring, branding, etc.

go to a piercing place and just ask.

just call a piercing parlor, what if you take off your shirt and it snags and gets ripped out! ouchies!! Or, if you have leather seats in a car and you have no shirt on (or a revealing one) and your back gets sweaty when its hot out and your skin kinda sticks to the seat and your piercings get all sweaty and the skin around them sticks too! Eeeeewwwww!!

no one legit will do it.

piercings only happen with appendages.. i'm surprised that eyebrows, elbows and navels get pierced at all.

no... don't do it the back is not an appendage.. how will you attend to it and it'll grow out hopefully that is and if it don't it'll press against the backbone that will become painful.

try the nose or ears... lip... instead.

if already then stretch them.. bigger.

Yes, it's possible. I like the corset look. I don't know how much it cost though, ask your local body piercer.
