You might have some spyware too. You should have an anti-spyware solution on your computer. I recommend that you go to http://www.download.com and get AD-AWARE and SpyBot Search & Destory. Install, run, update and scan your computer with both programs.
Then use Disk Cleanup from the SYSTEM TOOLS section. Look for it in your START menu, PROGRAMS then ACCESSORIES.
After running Disk Cleanup, use DEFRAG.
Good luck

Melodee,
IE7 is "buggy" as you and millions of others found out - not actually fully functional IMHO at this time. I would suggest that you wait until at least until after January, when Micro$oft will have most of the problems fixed and it would be safe to upgrade.
I would also suggest that you look into having another Internet browser called Firefox. Fast, efficient, takes up less system resources, but a caveat is that some sites are not compatable with it. But for 98% of your browsing needs, this works fine. I would not suggest using it with financial sites as it is does not have the strong 128 encryption levels like IE and Netscape has, making it safer to use when conducting banking, trading, or any other sensitive transactions.
Have the best of both worlds, I use Netscape & Firefox.
Firefox free download:

there is no longer something incorrect with IE7. it is a delusion that Firefox is a 'extra constructive' browser. i take advantage of IE7 with a lot less RAM than you and that i do no longer journey any problems with tabbed surfing. Are you particular there is no longer yet another procedure it truly is causing this subject? If residing house windows updates clicks in if you're surfing it would want to sluggish your gadget down. the subsequent time this happens verify what techniques are operating through job manager.

IE7 runs nicely on my system. Not sure if IE7 requires slightly higher system specs to run fast.

Why keep on struggling with explorer when you can have Firefox or Niche for free? Firefox gives you tabs and doesn't slow your computer down.
You can get them both here:

I had that same problem with the trial (beta) version, but when I downloaded the new final version, it worked fine. Try to redownload. I don't think you have to delete it, just redownload.
