I say if you really want to know, then find out. I didn't find out with my first because I had this ideal birth all planned out in my mind. Well when she came out I wanted my husband to say the sex...but obviously no one had read my birth plan, because one of the nurses yelled out "It's a girl!" They almost didn't let him cut the cord and he didn't get to give her her first bath. My point is don't wait because you have a fairy tale idea of how you want the birth to happen. Also if you want one sex over the other it's better to be disappointed at the ultrasound then at the actual birth. Because you will have time to get used to the idea of having what you are having. I think it's more fun to have a cute nursery all put together and the outfit of choice ready at the hospital, then to have every thing all yellow and unisex. Just think about it this way...it's still a suprise whether it happens at the ultrasound or at the birth. Maybe you could find out and not let your husband know. Or if you are planning on having both sexes eventually, you could buy things for boys and girls that's what I did (unfortunately I have 3 girls and still no boys).

Honestly I don't know any benifits on waiting to find out the babys sex. I have two daughters and I had to know the sex as soon as I could. I am not the type of person who likes surprises. Trust me if this is your first baby there will be plenty of surprises in the future. So the sex doesn't have to be one of them. What you could do is find out on your own what the babys sex is and keep it to yourself. Unless you can explain to your husband that you really want to know, hopefully you can convince him. Well good luck with the baby!

Well, actually there are unisex items for babies. Yellows, greens, and white are good colors. Plus you could buy things for boys and girls, save the receipts (make sure you buy them closer to your dute date so you don't go past the stores policy) and say if you have a girl you can exchange the boy clothes and things for girl things, and vice versa.

Some of the joys... well being totally surprised at what you are having! Because boy or girl you are going to love the baby regardless!

I'm not pregnant yet.....but my two nephews were surprises...and it was just that aspect that made the parents decide not to find out!!! She had said to me...its really one of the true surprises you will have in your life!!! I believe her.

Plus.....she pointed out (and I have noticed at the six baby showers I have been to since she said it) that those who know the sex get much more clothes and much less of the other items many parents need for their baby.

Wait to shop and set up the room, and enjoy the surprise!

Good luck in whatever you decide and CONGRATULATIONS!!

it is extraordinarily humorous by way of fact I continually needed slightly lady. when I have been given pregnant i became hoping for a woman yet did no longer care as long by way of fact the toddler became wholesome. Deep down I knew i became having a boy so I chosen to no longer locate out. I figured what ever I have been given I have been given and that i might quite hear them scream it in the transport room. while they pronounced, "its a boy" I even have on no account been so happy in my existence. With my 2d I knew it became a woman so I did the extremely sound and it became a woman. I in simple terms think of there is a few thing particular approximately sorting out while the toddler is born.

I think that although knowing before hand makes shopping easier, it kind of takes away some of the joy that finding out at birth brings, if that makes sense. I didn't know until mine were born; I knew they were twins, but I didn't know what combination, boy/girl, girl/girl, or boy/boy, Turns out they were both girls. But to solve your shopping dilemma, just buy yellow or green, unisex colors. Then as the baby gets older and grows out of them, you can always buy blue or pink later.

Personally, I was intrigued by the whold "surprise" aspect--sure, we had all the tests done for abnormalities, etc., but the gender was just a surprise I wanted to look forward to, ya know? We opted for primary colors for the nursery, then gender personalized later.

Just the surprise! Driving everyone crazy (like family and friends) because you don t know. And sometimes the tests are wrong! Best Wishes!

if you want to know and your husband doesn't then he can either stay home on the next appointment or right before the doctor tells you he can step out. but once you know soon enough he will be begging you to tell him that's what me husband did. GOOD LUCK
