Ha @ the person above who said "I don't believe they really burn in hell, my God is too kind for that", yet people are suffering tremendously around the world everyday. I don't think anything happens. Putting so much though into what happens in death takes the joy out of actually living.

I have several theories on this.

1. You did not pass the test on "lessons in life" and will have to repeat the lessons, possibly even worse the next time around, before you can move on.

2. Suicide is the ultimate "inability to cope" with life. I do believe their are cosmic consequences, but I don't believe you would be judged harshly, as the bible tends to lean towards.

In some religions, suicide is the ultimate crime/sin. However, I think you just wind up having to repeat your life until you get it right. And quite honestly, there have been times when I thought of suicide, but then thinking I would have to relive all the hell Ive ALREADY been through in this life, I throw that thought out right away LOL.

I have heard sermons about this, and ministers saying that you cannot be forgiven for this because you will not be around to seek forgiveness from God once you commit the act of suicide. I'm not sure I buy into that. I believe that God will not put more onto an individual than he knows that person can handle, however Satan can and will. I believe that through the power of Christ, salvation is a continuing event throughout eternity. I also believe that each person has their own relationship with God, and He alone is given power to judge. With certainty, I feel that God is aware at all times, what each of us are going through. I could never tell a person that is in severe pain night and day, from ...say for instance, cancer..that he or she will burn in hell for ending their life, or having someone assist them in ending it. The blueprint for the christian life has been laid out for us to follow and further answers given through reading and prayer, but I'm not arrogant enough to claim to know the mind of God in each instance of suicide to judge where they might spend eternity. I believe that is up to God alone.

No one truly knows. Most religions would say that the person's soul goes to hell. I don't really believe in the conventional picture of a fiery hell and pointy tail red devils but I feel that the soul would be greatly tormented at having to end living abruptly. Then it would roam around as a ghost or something....

That's a pretty good question. I think the same thing happens to everyone: They all go to sleep until the day everyone wakes up to be judged for their lives. After that, there's no way to know, because whether they are accepted into heaven is solely between them and God.

Some cultures believe it is actually courageous to kill yourself, because it is an act of your own will, rather than dying by your enemy's sword. In many western cultures, suicide is viewed as an act of cowardess, giving up on life, etc. I'm sure it all depends on the situation and the state of your heart as you perform the act.

There are several situations which I believe are acts of bravery in which someone might kill themselves:

1. Man must die to protect another person or several persons.
2. Man must die to protect a deep secret.
3. Man must die to prevent his enemies from getting to him and shaming him.
4. Man chooses to die rather than burden family and friends with his illness or injury, including illnesses of the mind, like alcoholism and abusiveness.

Several acts which I consider cowardly or evil:

1. Man kills himself to escape punishment.
2. Man kills himself to escape dealing with some incredible decision.
3. Man kills himself because he is depressed, and cannot deal with life.
4. Man kills himself as an act of sacrificial ritual.
5. Man kills himself to prevent others from finding his dark secrets or his greedy treasure.

In the cases of the first group, I believe the man will be rewarded for his sacrifice. In the cases of the second group, I believe the man will be punished in the afterlife, unless he has accepted that he is forgiven and has given his life to God, but has a lapse of faith.

In any case, I don't believe there is any way we could have a thought on this man's reward or pennance, because we do not know his heart.

Nobody knows... That the thing.. Death is the only question that once you find out for yourself exactly what happens.. You can't share it with anyone.. And everyone please remember this.. Satan cannot do Anything to you without Gods permission.. Satan can never take your life..

I truely hope that they aren't put into a place that makes them suffer. I dont imagine giving them a safe haven either but it all depends on why they chose to end their lives.

I'm a very optimistic person as you all can tell. :)

so far every near successful suicide was hell.

worms, noise, stabbing pains, demons... things like that.. and none of these folks ever talked to one another and they were legit.. they did try to off themselves.

don't know why... they appear to be quite successful now and rather happy in their lives now.

:D

I don't believe they really burn in hell, my God is too kind for that. I do believe they torture themselves and they live in some kind of 'in between' until their souls are enlightened.
