We have DirectTV system. The other day, we got a different TV and hooked it up. It works fine. However, we have another TV in the kitchen that doesn't have a reciever, we just watch whatever is on, on the other TV. It has to be on, if we want to watch the kitchen TV. The problem is, the TV in the kitchen only has snow now. (. I called DirectTV and they tried to figure out the problem but couldn't. The splitter is outside and is intact. Nothing was ever done to the kitchen TV. Any idea what the problem could be? DirectTV will come out for a charge...since they did not do the unpluging...we did, cause we didn't think there would be any problem. The new TV has stereo...the old one didn't. Maybe that makes a difference??

We have it on channel 3, and we don't have a VCR or anything else hoocked up.

Is the channel on 3? That was my problem when I tried to hook it up to directTV. I felt like a moron. Other than that, I dont know.

remove your access card. hold the power button in. unplug and replug the box from the outlet 5 times. this will set your receiver back to default.

but these new receivers (i'm assuming you bought the one with the DVR/TIVO feature) you have to buy the dual receiver dish. If you notice on the back of your receiver you have 2 inputs from the dish. they're going to want you to buy the dish.
