since the pill essentially tricks your body into thinking that you're pregnant, and therefore doesn't release any eggs, what happens to those eggs? do they stay in your ovaries? do they disintegrate?

OK, normally every month an egg is randomly selected to develop. About midway through the cycle, the follicle surrounding the egg ruptures and releases it into the the fallopian tube, where it may or may not be fertilized. When you are on the pill, the egg never gets the signal to start developing, so there is no mature follicle and no egg to release. All the eggs remain in the same state they are normally in.

They are released and the pill forms a type of spermacide in your uterus that prevents the egg from being fertalized.

no they are released , once a month no matter if you are on the pill or anything else......
