probably bad, basically it could refer to your long list of incidents and transgressions past... or it could refer to your drawn out story telling.... If it were a good description it would most likely allude to an intricate relationship you have had with the person who described you as being a "long story"

It means that to explain you would take more time and effort than most people would care to give. If someone is just trying to sum you up quickly, its probably bad because they will be insulted, confused or bored by your complexity. If someone is trying to get to know you deeply, its a good thing because they will find you interesting and entertaining for a longer period of time.

The long story usually means there is a shorter way of putting it. It usually means there are more, usually more detailed details included in the description of what's going on.

well everytime i have used it to describe one of my relationships it was never meant as a good thing... it was kinda like "what are you doing talking to him" my response "its a long story"
