Does anyone even care about baseball and basketball? Why do the NBA and MLB insist on putting teams in Canada?

I'll at least give MLB credit for moving the Expos back to baseball civilization.

#2 would be the CFL and #3 would be Curling for watching. Why does the NBA and MLB insist on trying to move to Canada (and the NFL as well)? Well to Start, Toronto and the Lower Mainland in BC are large TV markets. Similar to why the NFL wants back into LA, because of the possible TV revenue from a market that size. The possibilty to reach 2 million people each week with ad revenue is a catch for professional sports.

It really does mean that for Canada, hockey is it's first love as sports go. Just as in England, soccer is their game. And, if you want to think in terms of how many teams are from the US as opposed to 2 from Canada , remember Canada only has 6 teams in a 20 + team league.

Curling and football - without a doubt! Although, I'm not Canadian. But curling is their national sport and they're also big on their version of football.
