When I'm at school, I get made fun of/teased a lot. Usually they mean it in fun, but it begins to hurt after a while. How do I respond to it? Do I ignore them? Go along with the joke? Insult them back?

The important thing is not to get to visually upset
this will just make it more fun for them to tease you.
I think often kids gang up on kids is because they are afraid of being the next target if they don't go along.
Hope things go better for you.

If you are being targeted by a group of people and it is always aimed at you its bullying. If not and its just jokes and light insults being thrown around then come up with something back, being teased is a matter of life adults do it all the time you just need to have your own witty remarks or be able to laugh it off. If it gets too heavy, say something. Teasing like you describe should always be on a low scle that doesnt really mean anything.

Why do they make fun of you? Just remember it's all temporary and school won't last the rest of your life. You hang in there and you'll be stronger for it. It depends on the situation when you respond. Use all 3. Sometimes you ignore it, but not always because then you'll start to feel weak. Sometimes if it doesn't hurt you, it can be good to laugh at yourself too. Think of some clever comebacks that are also "funny." Good luck.

If they are doing it a lot, it's because they can detect that they are getting some kind of response out of you. Ignore them to the point that you look right through them or can't even hear them. They should stop after awhile. If they continue after being ignored, then let them know that although they made think it's fun, you don't think being fun of is a laughing matter and that you want them to stop.

Insulting them back will never help. A lot of times it will make things worse because it will let the offending lot know you are receptive. Being teased will only be interesting if the person being teased shows some sort of response.

I myself will usually jump in and join them. A lot of comedians use this as a way to bring in humor. It is easy to crack a lot of jokes about yourself.

However, what you probably need to do is to try asking them to cut it out. Politely. If they are your friends they will usually drop it.

Well that depends, if you are being made fun of most of the time if you don't re-act in any type of response to what they say then they will stop. I had this same problem back in middle school. They made fun of me because of my weight problem. They would call me names and what not, and some of them were my friends who were just messing around but it did hurt. I just stopped responding to anything they said, just think happy thoughts. Let them be the fools to pick on someone less fortunate, god will get even. Hope this helps.

If itz not that bad then ignore it and smile. If its horrible, laugh along with it. Don't cry or get mad because that shows them that they have the power to contorl your feelings. Just go along with the joke. If you crack jokes back it might be wac and they will make fun of it. Even if itz good they will act like itz wac! SO just cool it. When you feel that the time is right get your sweeeet revenge. Hope that time comes soon. Good luck =)

Silence, is Golden. I used to get picked on by this guy alot untill I told him in his face that I was here to get my high school Diploma. He finally backed down and shut the hell up. Just relax if your in high school, people are bored and want something to do so I would take my *** to the library and read up on some other stuff about being teased. Just don't do the whole Colombine Act. That was crazy.

Try your very best to keep a good attitude, laugh it all off. Sometimes this is difficult, but if someone is intending to intimidate you, and see their ploy is working, they are likely to continue making your situation only worse. The best thing to do is create a "tough hide" and don't let insults in! Keep your spirits high, cause 10 years from now, it won't matter anyway! Best of luck!

Ignore them. The only reason people do that,is because there own life sucks, and they want everyone to feel bad. When I was 16, I gave up caring what those kind of people thought. If they do it long enough, and you ignore it, it will turn on them. Don't lower yourself by feeding into any of it.
