Go to a community website and ask there. Here, in Topeka, there is one called Hand2Hand, and I'm sure there's others. People are so helpful and knowledgeable, you'll get firsthand referrals immediately right from "the horse's mouth".

If you have a regular physician that you normally see I would ask him for a referral. It's hard to find a gynecologist that you feel comfortable with, so there may be some searching involved. But when you're looking make sure you find someone who answers all your questions (clearly without confusion), explains procedures, medications, and risks, and makes you feel at ease to speak with. You never want to be dishonest or withhold information from a person who's trying to insure your health because it could compromise it later in life. Good luck. =)

1. Yellow Pages
2. Ask a friend
3. Ask 5 friends
4. Call the local Medical Society
5. Contact your local hospital
6. Ask a nurse at your local hospital
But....Why don't you think that all the gynecologists in your area are OK? Most of them are probably excellent, empathetic, caring, and qualified. Pick one.

Look in the yellow pages. If you need a referral, check with your local medical society, or with a doctor referral service at your local hospitals.
