Funny, I never thought of that before. I think pigeons start their life as teenagers. That would explain a lot.

There are, I saw some earlier this year. I work in a theatre and a pigeon had built a nest outside a toilet window. The nest was made from silver twigs and cable ties (very theatrical). She had 2 babies. Scruffy things with yellow fluffy feathers.
Why do people always ask why you don't see baby pigeons? Probably for the same reason you don't see other baby birds. When was the last time you saw a baby sparrow or a baby magpie or a baby crow???

I am half a century old and in all that time, it has never, ever crossed my mind that I have never seen a baby pigeon! Pigeons are always big and fat, sometimes without toes, sometimes with only one foot. The silent warriors of our towns who swoop down the moment you get your sandwiches out and slowly destroy public buildings with their copious amounts of poop.
I always thought that I was knowledgeable in most areas, but now you have brought to my attention the fact that my education has been .. err.. well, sadly lacking in the bird department, I feel cheated!
No baby pigeons! Who would've thought it!

There are baby pigeons, you just don't see them because they parent pigeons are pretty good at hiding their nests. Also, the nests are located high off of the ground. Baby pigeons are called squabs. It took a couple of minutes of searching just to find a picture of a couple of the buggers.

What do you mean 'no baby pigeons'? That is ridiculous. Okay, so baby pigeons aren't much smaller than adult ones so the untrained eye might not notice the difference but the pigeons in our garden most definitely have babies each year.

Oh! they are there. They mature very quickly. By the time they leave the nest it is hard to tell baby from adult. That is why pigeons can reproduce many times in yr. Thus the population is plentiful.

There used to be some in the nest behind a statue in our local church. Unfortunately, the vicar didn't like all the poop on the ground and it's been covered. It was very sweet to see.

Well, do you see any other baby birds (apart from chickens and ducks etc). They all stay in their nests until they are big and strong and are able to fly. By this time they are probably relatively large and you would think they are adult and not baby.

Pigeons, much like the cells of your body, reproduce by division.
