If ARkansas wins out they will be playing Florida for the SEC championship while Auburn is ranked higher in the BCS Pole.

If Arkansas can beat Tennessee and LSU, they should be in the SEC Championship game. I think they will not win both games and could lose them both. The bottom line is the SEC has several very strong teams again this year with Arkansas taking the place this year of the usually strong Georgia Bulldogs. I think it is hard to separate the top 5 in the SEC this year. Auburn, Florida, LSU, Arkansas, and Tennessee. Arkansas won impressively at Auburn and if these two teams end up tied in the standings, Arkansas gets the nod and deserves it. I'm an Auburn fan and the loss was hard to take, but you have to hand to the Hogs. They dominated the line of scrimmage in that game. I also believe the scenario you mention could easily occur with these two teams or others because the BCS system is so flawed. I am one of many fans who would prefer a real playoff system which would match the top 16 or more D-1 teams in a tournament to determine the top team in the country. I'm convinced the SEC would prove its toughness in such a tournament.

It wouldn't matter. The winners of the SEC, Big 12, Big 10, ACC, Big East and Pac 10 automatically get invited to a BCS bowl. If Arkansas wins the SEC, even if Auburn is ranked higher, Arkansas still gets the automatic SEC bid. Auburn would probably get one of the at large invitations to a BCS bowl.

Another example of why football needs a playoff system.

Edit
Some of you people need to get educated on how the BCS works. The winner of the SEC Championship has everything to do with who goes to a BCS bowl. The winner of the championship game gets an automatic BCS bowl invitation regardless of their BCS rank. The only thing the BCS rankings do is determine #1 & #2 for the BCS Championship game.

Nothing happens. The SEC championship has nothing to do with the BCS ranking or qualifying for the BCS championship.

Edit: Correcting my answer, where I said the SEC championship has nothing to do with qualifying for a BCS bowl. That's incorrect, as Nuke correctly pointed out. In my defense, I knew that, and intended to say the BCS "Championship" game...not just any BCS bowl. But, the question at hand asks about what happens to Auburn if they're ranked higher than the SEC champs. If they don't qualify for the SEC championship game, then they can only be considered for a BCS bowl as an at-large team. The winner of the SEC championship will likely be a highly-ranked team. If Auburn's ranked higher, they'll more than likely be invited to a BCS bowl as an at-large...just as they would if they were to qualify for the SEC championship...which returns us to my original answer, of what would be different if they're ranked higher than the SEC champions: nothing.

If Arkansas wins out, the voters will take notice of that and probably jump them over Auburn later in the season. I also think that if Auburn doesn't make the SECCG they will get jumped by a possible 1 loss Florida team in the polls and most likely in the computers.

Arkansas will get their love if they keep on winning. They still have games against 2 top 10 teams and if they were to win those two, there would be no denying they should be a top 5 team at least.

Then they are on the outside looking in, as the saying goes. Look what happened last season with Florida State. They had lost 4-games, but won the ACC, so they got a BCS bowl invite. The BCS doesn't work. Gives undeserving teams a shot at the BCS bowls. A playoff system is definitely needed.

it must be tcu/oregon. a million, wisconsin and stanford are extra constructive a million loss communities pondering they dont ought to win by technique of three factors a week. 2, stanfords loss replaced into to oregon. so there is validity to their loss. stanford and oregon cant rematch because the bcs HATES rematches interior of a similar season. plus, tcu is undefeated. they did their section. hell, they even were given jumped by technique of two communities. i also dont believe that a a million loss aq team might want to bounce an undefeated boise state team or tcu who's ranked as severe as they are/were. in case you want to flow to the championship recreation, then you actually shouldnt have f*ckin lost the game. its that easy.
