NO!

the good thing about them is that they are friendly rivals, not only that but i would like to keep some of those characters separate, especially since they have equivalent counterparts in their rival universe.

No, marvel and DC should stay seperate for the same reason that rival big name home improvement stores like Lowe's and Home Depot build directly next store to each other. Having rivalry between two companies helps both companies. If you don't like something that one is doing, you can simply "go across the street." For example, if you are trying to get a younger child involved in reading, DC's comics tend to be a little less violent, and more adhering to the comic book code. While marvel tends to be more aimed at the older demographic, with deeper story lines, and crossover comic story lines. Both have something that we all want and keeps the other company on their toes.

I've already answered this elsewhere.

Why?

The only worhtwhile dc characters are those created in the batman universe.

I don't even think marvel's higher quality writing and stories could bring a dull and crappy character like superman to life. DC is the red headed step child of comics, they should just sell off the rights to batman and scrap the rest of what they write. Start over and see if this time they can come up with some interesting characters besides aquaman and wonder woman.

No, NEVER, EVER, EVER!!!! I'm sorry, but dc is too unrealistic compared to Marvel. Merging would make things really messed up.

No. The competition between the two companies only helps make comic books better.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Having them seperate means better comics for all of us. The writing styles are too different for them to ever merge.

nope.

Competition breeds lower prices and competitiveness.
It keeps artists trying harder to be more original.
WIthout competition everyone would just slack off.

Sorry for the economics answer.

NO!

Different styles for different tastes.

Let's NOT start a comic book monopoly.
