Socialism is far-left. Facism is far-right. It has been the strategy of the right to attack all liberals as far-right for the last couple decades. Socialism is a label they have used to achieve this. They are trying to shift what is considered centrist or moderate, that is why they attack all news that isn't right-wing propaganda as liberal. This strategy has actually worked on people who don't pay enough attention to the facts and to reality.

You see comments on this site that liberals are the ones home during the day collecting social services and conservatives are out working and many other comments of this nature. This is what is called a factoid. Something that is repeated so many times that people actually believe it is true. A factoid is not true. The most hilarious thing about factoids (or sad thing depending on your perspective) is that millions of people believe that a factoid is some kind of neat fact.

It's a "nasty" name they can call democrats when they can't think of anything else. In reality, though there are some policies that democrats would like to implement (such as Universal Healthcare) that are vaguely reminicent of basic socialist tenets, The "fear and smear" and billions spent on a war to spread "democracy", and propaganda etc. propagated by the Republicans are more in line with the fascist regime you already described. I guess you could say that it's the "it's not ME, it's THEM" defense.

Liberal democrats act like socialists at times but republicans have acted like fascists eve more but they like to judge other people rather than take a hard look at themselves.

Democrats of today are more right wing than Republicans of Nixon's era. Anyone who claims that Democrats are socialists is either very young or very ignorant.

My dear sir, or madame, or whatever you are. You are SADLY mistaken. The biggest Demorat of all times, Franklin Delanor Roosevelt, was an avowed communist, as was most of his staff. That is socialism to the Nth degree. All the Demorats pres. since have followed suit. Look at how Slick Willie kissed up to Red China.

If you put political thought on a continuum, you will notice that fascism and anarchy are at opposite ends thus:-

anarchy......socialism......liberalism...republicanism..........fascism

Admittedly this format is not ideal to explain the point but all of our political thought is situated around the centreof the continuum.

Well, when Fidel Castro's Communist government and Hugo Chavez's Communist government more open to Christianity and religion than most Democrat politicians and judges in our country I think it speaks volumes.
