I've just bought a second hand computer - XP - and there are hundreds of useless to me addresses on Google. I'm doing what I did on my previous computer: highlight + delete, but it's not working. I'll never find the addresses I want in all this lot. Please help!

Are you refering to the website addresses on Internet Explorer? Then simply clear the history (Tools >>> Internet Options>>). If you are refering to the Google Toolbar - same again, at the end of the dop down menu (on the bottom right) you can see clear history.

Let me know if you need something else.

Click on Tools, Internet Options, Content, AutoComplete, Clear Forms. Bingo!

If its the standard one go to the end and look for CLEAR HISTORY tab, and start over. If its the Internet One then TOOLS-INTERNET OPTIONS-CLEAR HISTORY (and might as well clear all the other ones also)

Also, search for .tmp, .jpg, bmp, .gif - sort these, then delete all of the ones that are listed under internet. You can double click and look at some of these before deleting to confirm - but very time consuming and no value - unless you see a pic that you like.

You don't need to save any .tmp files (most computers auto-delete these at shut down - but sometimes that routine fails).

Go into the history (clock at top of tool bar, next to favorites) and delete the history

go to the google bar, press the down cursor and delete. If this doesn't work, then click on the clear history option in blue.
