If you could build a team around one of these wide recievers which one would you pick? Personally I would pick Harrison; he has the same kind of numbers the others havs, plus he is not a distraction to the team, and he is getting better with age. If this keeps up he will be (or already is) the next Jerry Rice, heck Jerry even admitted to saying Marvin is his favorite and will go down as one of the all time bests in the game. What do you think?

All things being equal, age, injuries, and so on, I would choose Harrison. Ultimate team player, great leader, everything you want in a wide out. A close second would be Chad Johnson, a consummate playmaker, just enough ego, without going overboard, (see Terrell Owens). One you didn't mention, is Javon Walker. All he does is show up, make 8 -10 catches a game and make Rod Smiths job that much easier.

Harrison is a HOFer and an all-time great, but I wouldn't take him because of his age. Same goes for Torry Holt, who averages more yards per game than anyone in history - including Rice - and who will likely end his career ahead of everyone on your list. And like Harrison, Holt is a consumate pro who keeps his mouth shut and plays the game - and he's also the only guy on your list with a Super Bowl ring.

At this point, I'd probably choose Anquan Boldin, even though I'm not a fan of the Cardinals or Florida State. He's just a great receiver who can make the possession grab or catch the long ball.

Steve Smith -4335yrds in 6years and hurt 2 out of the 6 years.

Marvin Harrison -12846yrds in 11years

Terrell Owens -10812yrds in 11years

Randy Moss-10498yrds in 9years

Jerry Rice-22895yrds in 21years

theres never going to be another Jerry Rice.....but to take just 1.i would take moss i think moss is the most complete....putting aside all antics that he puts around him self ,he has the most talent, that is being wasted.u put any of the other 5 WR. besides Harrison and let Peyton Manning throw to them, and they would have even better num#s than Harrison.bold statement, yes. everyone is forgetting about another,Cris Carter-13899yrds in 16years,if carter had a QB like rice it might be a different story.u just don't hear about a wr that should be great,u only hear about the wr's that are great ...the QB makes the WR who he is and the other way around .if the QB is great your great .if he sucks u really suck......rice got delt a tremendously good hand ,some others have not .

Smith will probably be the best statistically from now until the rest of the season. But Harrison will be close. Owens is always dangerous. Moss is too. For two weeks they might do nothing and then BAM. They have a three touchdown game with 180 yards. They are talented but prone to getting frustrated. And Johnson and Holt are also talented. They can surprise you too.

Steve Smith hands down. Plus he has more good years ahead of him than Marvin does. If I'm going to build a team around someone, he better be around for a long time.
Really though, WR is about 5th or 6th of the list of positions i would build my team around. Even a great WR doesn't get enough touches to be your focal point. Both lines are th most important but if you had to build around one guy it would be a QB.

ok first im going to eliminate...teams built around owens and moss crumble...chad johnson isnt even putting up the best numbers on his team(double teams), steve smith however is dominating...it all depends on if its them right now, or as their rookie season...cuz with torry holt, you get the most reliable wideout in the league, and the fastest ever to 10,000 yds..even faster than rice....harrison has gotten to play with peyton manning...tory holt puts up big numbers year in and year out..so i have to pick holt...although steve smith is the best for just this season and last season

Harrison is getting old.
Owens is a head case.
Chad is too one dimension
